A year ago she wasn’t even here yet, and now look at her. Taking over the house.
She is truly a blessing, my little Charlotte.

February 24, 2010As a lot of my clients and friends are aware, I try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Not only in my business, but in my personal life as well.
Recycling, going to the thrift store, using cloth diapers, cleaning with vinegar instead of harsh chemicals and cleaning with towels instead of paper towels are just a few of the things we routinely do.
So, when I heard about Baby Momento , I thought it was a genius idea.
Everyone always forgets to send out holiday cards. I even have other photographers tell me they had them made for months and still forgot to send them out. This way you just fill out an email to everyone in your address book and it’s done.
I can’t tell you how many people purchase digital packages these days, so a website with digital and animated announcements is perfect!! Not to mention the site owner is sweet as pie and her cards are cute as can be. Hop on over there and check out some adorable designs.

February 16, 2010I am often asked if I went to school for photography. The answer is no. I am then asked how in the world did I ever learn?
Lots of time reading, playing, experimenting with my camera and editing software. Google became my best friend on answering questions for me.
Then I was asked to join Clickin’ Moms about 2 years ago. This is community of women (and men!!) who share the same love for photography and creating beautiful portraits. Not every one is a professional, some just want to learn how to use their camera a little better to take pictures of their own children.
There is a wide range of talent, style, ages, even different parts of the world. There is something for every one!
This is such a helpful group of women, and I have learned so much. I never realized that as a photographer, it is so so so so important to network with other photographers. Not just for your own personal gain, but for the friendships that blossom from one similar interest.

February 2, 2010One of my 2010 resolutions was to make more personal blog entries. I am not doing such a fabulous job!!
Yesterday, I took some pictures of my nearly 11 month old daughter (where did the time go?!) for an article about one year portraits and cake smash sessions for TAoPaN mag . I know she isn’t one yet, but I had some new ideas that I hadn’t got a chance to try out in my last cake smash session.
She is probably the cutest baby ever. If I do say so myself.
Now, if you excuse me. I have the cable company to call about my DVR that didn’t record LOST tonight. Yes. This is a big deal.

January 10, 2010My sweet little baby is 10 months old today. That means 2 more months and I have a one year old!!
Time goes by so quickly, it’s hard to believe that 10 months ago I was holding a 7 pound 15 ounce newborn.
Here she is, my big 10 month old. Getting ready to walk, talk, and get right in there with her big brother and sister.
This is what I call the “Why the heck am I in the toy box, mom?” face. Personally, I love it.
Pretty soon I will be doing my very own cake smash for this sweet little girl. And probably crying.
9 months of sweetness…
December 14, 2009It’s hard to believe that its been 9 months already. Little C is the best baby. She loves to cuddle. She loves to head butt (yes. head butt!)

November 5, 2009Yesterday I was introduced to fall weather + grass and weeds as high as your eyes + a hyper dog = allergies and itchiness!
I love going off the beaten path, but I hate coming home and picking the burrs and other lovelies from the area.
[I also love when the cops get called on you because you could be doing something like dumping that super cool new retro chair you just bought.]
This shoot was actually for my mom. I have 3 younger brothers, 2 of which still live at home.
Just a small peak. Aren’t they handsome? I can’t call them cute, that is too embarrassing.

October 26, 2009This was our first attempt at the kids Christmas pictures. It wasn’t as miserable as I thought it was going to be! They were very nice and listened great. I even ended up with some very cute pictures!
Believe me, we will be trying again though. I am perhaps a bit of a perfectionist.
