walk the line

March 4, 2010

cwalkweb2

She is doing it! Walking like she has been doing it for years.
A year ago she wasn’t even here yet, and now look at her. Taking over the house.
She is truly a blessing, my little Charlotte.

i’m not ready.

February 26, 2010

I am not ready for it. Nope.
I want her to be my baby forever. And let’s be honest at 5, 15 or 50 they are always your baby.
I am not ready for the cuddly infant phase to be over. It always passes too quickly and you end up wondering where exactly all those sleepless nights when they were a newborn went.
She is 2 weeks away from being one year old, and today she took nine steps. She also had her first set of piggy tails.

The first year is so bittersweet. You never want it to end, but you also can’t wait to see what happens in their future.

goin’ green

February 24, 2010

As a lot of my clients and friends are aware, I try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Not only in my business, but in my personal life as well.
Recycling, going to the thrift store, using cloth diapers, cleaning with vinegar instead of harsh chemicals and cleaning with towels instead of paper towels are just a few of the things we routinely do.
So, when I heard about Baby Momento , I thought it was a genius idea.
Everyone always forgets to send out holiday cards. I even have other photographers tell me they had them made for months and still forgot to send them out. This way you just fill out an email to everyone in your address book and it’s done.
I can’t tell you how many people purchase digital packages these days, so a website with digital and animated announcements is perfect!! Not to mention the site owner is sweet as pie and her cards are cute as can be. Hop on over there and check out some adorable designs.

No blog is complete without some pictures. Today was pensive look day, I guess. No one wanted to smile for me.

black and white

February 13, 2010

I love black and whites. They are so timeless and have a simple beauty. Another one of my 2010 photography resolutions is to use, enjoy and blog more black and white images!
What other way to start off this new tradition, than when a brand new baby.

matilda jane <3

December 5, 2009

I had the honor of being chosen to participate in a great contest held by an amazing clothing company called Matilda Jane. Their unique clothing and bright designs are always so fun!
If you have a moment, please check out the contest and vote for me (and any of the other fabulous entries!) by clicking on Adelai, and adding her to you cart. All you need to do is check out and you’re done! You can vote for as many photographers as you like, but you can only vote once.
It was an honor just be be picked out of hundreds of children photographers who entered this contest.

And the best news of all? Addie actually had fun doing this! We had some very much needed mommy+Addie time. We even got ice cream.

For your viewing pleasure, some more pictures of my three beautiful little babies.

Sweet Charlotte. She is nearly 9 months old!

family of 5…

November 30, 2009

I can’t believe that its almost the end of the year! With that comes Christmas and Holiday shoots, oh my!
I was just finishing up the bulk of my sessions this weekend, and had the pleasure of having meeting the L family.
The internet is a strange place, people. You can met some awesome people!! Nancy, is one of those awesome people. She is a fellow photog/designer from Indiana and drove out just to see me! Ok, now that is a lie. They were spending thanksgiving in the big KC. If you want to check out Nancys design work, go to Monkey Tails Design
And, are you kidding me? Look at her cute little family!

This baby? oh my gosh. Seriously could not be any more adorable.

That is Dorthy. She made a few small appearances in our pictures.
I could post all day from this session, for sure. Such a cute family!

two sweet sisters…

November 6, 2009

Little Sam and Sophie are just as cute as can be, and certainly full of energy! We had a fun time playing right in Liberty Square with an old chair and some sidewalk chalk.
I hope the S family loves these!

a blonde princess…

November 6, 2009

Today I had the privilege of meeting sweet little M and her mommy.
M is almost 2, but she was born at just over 1 pound, can you believe that? What a miracle, in every sense of the word.
Thanks for coming to play with me today!
